- Abstract
The article presents recommendations for the treatment of pregnant women with preexisting type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It notes the need for women with diabetes and childbearing potential to be educated about the need for glucose control before pregnancy and to participate in effective family planning. It mentions the importance of regular follow-up visits for the adjustments in the treatment plan related to stage of pregnancy. It cites the impact of pregnancy in the management of the disease.
