- Abstract
The article discusses research which examines urine in humans for presence of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) RNA in patients in Chongqing, China. The study revealed that all urine specimens from patients tested negative for JEV RNA by either reverse transcription (RT) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or real-time RT-PCR. Further, it showed that viral RNA was not present in urine during acute JEV infection.
