- Abstract
The article focuses on the need for development of laws and regulations for creating a regulatory framework for direct-to-consumer (DTC) genetic testing in the U.S. It discusses the assessment and application of the German policy model of the genetic testing or DNA-based testing. It analyzes the difference between German regulatory approach and regulatory approach in the U.S., which highlights that German approach results in an effective ban on DTC genetic testing.
