- Abstract
An essay is presented which analyzes the correct number of separate awards of statutory damages available to a plaintiff in a copyright infringement case. It discusses precedents in this regard including Columbia Pictures Television v. Krypton Broadcasting of Birmingham, Inc. holding that a joint tortfeasor would be liable for each infringement of separately liable infringers and Arista Records LLC v. Lime Group LLC favoring infringers rather than defending the rights of copyright holders.
