- Abstract
The article discusses the potential approach to increase the durability of prosthetic implants. It states that the drug candidates related to a common metabolite called adenosine prevents inflammation as well as reduce bone destruction in artificial joints. It mentions that an investigational compound which can activate signalling proteins found on the surface of cells inhibit inflammation and osteoclast formation was found useful for prolonging the life of artificial joints.
