- Authors
Black, Richard; Bennett, Stephen R. G.; Thomas, Sandy M.; Beddington, John R.
- Abstract
In this article, the authors discuss the effects of global environmental change which includes coastal flooding, reduced water scarcity, and rainfall in dry lands that alter patterns of human migration. They say that international research and action are needed to know the outcomes of migration influenced by environmental change. Moreover, the need to understand how migration will affect social change such as the formation of poverty traps and the coexistence of cultures is discussed.
