- Abstract
The authors examine the results of a report on hearing from the World Health Organization (WHO) published in March 2021. Topics discussed include the estimate that at least 700 million people living with some degree of hearing loss in 2050 will require rehabilitation services, the necessity for countries to invest in preventing and addressing hearing loss, and the importance of integrating people-centered ear and hearing care within national health plans for universal health coverage (UHC).
