- Abstract
The article discuses the methylthioadenosine in relation to Calvin-Benson-Bassham cycle. As mentioned, in this pathway polyamine metabolism is linked with isoprenoid biosynthesis by the help of a RubisCO-like protein in the photosynthetic bacterium Rhodospirillum. It also adds that methanethiol previously regarded as a byproduct of polyamine biosynthesis but is found to be converted into two major cell components after being recaptured in the form of methionine.
