- Abstract
The article examines the relationship between quantified spleen volume changes and oxygen uptake kinetics during supine cycling. It states that greater splenic contractions do not augment tau pulmonary oxygen uptake, irrespective of spleen emptying and subsequent erythrocyte release. Also noted is the non-correlation of larger resting spleen volume and greater emptying with a faster tau pulmonary oxygen uptake.
