- Abstract
The article focuses the adaptation of Dutch military elements in Sweden and their transfer from Sweden to Brandenburg-Prussia in Germany with emphasis on military law and recruitment. The military connection between Sweden and Brandenburg-Prussia had destructive and divisive qualities. It discusses the effects of warfare and geopolitical competition in early modern northern Europe. It cites the implications of the role of Sweden in adapting the Orange-Nassau military reforms to its own circumstances and then conveying it to Brandenburg-Prussia.
