- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses a research related to identification of laboratory specific variations of Bacillus subtilis strains used in Japan. Topics discussed include genome sequencing, characterization of a mutant genome relevant to a parental reference strain, and Bacillus subtilis is used as a model for Gram-positive bacteria. Other topics discussed include variations among strains was due to storage conditions in laboratories or differences among colonies of original stock.
