- Abstract
Objetivo: El propósito de este estudio era determinar los factores de comorbilidad en la fobia social y las representaciones dimensionales del trastorno de la personalidad por evitación estimando hasta qué punto los dos trastornos están influidos por factores genéticos comunes y factores ambientales compartidos o únicos frente a en qué medida estos factores son específicos de cada trastorno. Método: Se evaluaron parejas jóvenes de gemelas adultas (n = 1.427) procedentes del Institute of Public Health Twin Panel noruego con una entrevista personal para el trastorno de la personalidad por evitación y la fobia social utilizando la Entrevista Estructurada para la Personalidad del DSM-IV y la Entrevista Diagnóstica Internacional Compuesta. Se ajustaron modelos bifactoriales de Cholesky utilizando el programa estadístico Mx. Resultados: El mejor modelo ajustado incluyó factores genéticos agregados y sólo factores ambientales únicos. El trastorno de la personalidad por evitación y la fobia social estaban influidos por los mismos factores genéticos, mientras que los factores ambientales que influían en los dos trastornos no se relacionaron. Conclusiones: Dentro de las limitaciones de potencia estadística, estos resultados sugieren que existe una vulnerabilidad genética común para el trastorno de la personalidad por evitación y la fobia social en las mujeres. Un individuo con una alta predisposición genética desarrollará un trastorno de la personalidad por evitación frente a fobia social enteramente como consecuencia de factores de riesgo ambientales únicos para cada trastorno. Los resultados coinciden con la hipótesis de que las dimensiones psicobiológicas abarcan trastornos del Eje I y del Eje II.
