- Abstract
The article discusses confounding factors for variation in clozapine plasma levels after the racemic proton pump inhibitor (PPI) omeprazole is replaced by its (s)-isomer esomeprazole. The discussion focuses on drug interactions with the PPI, possible infectious episodes, and change in clozapine metabolism. The case report involves a nonsmoking 51-year-old woman treated for chronic psychosis.
