- Abstract
4:1 two-component silicone sealant was prepared with α,ω-dihydroxy-poly dimethylsiloxane as the base material, nano-calcium carbonate as the reinforcing filler, and dimethylsilicone oil as the plasticizer, crosslinking agent, tackifiers and catalyst. The effects of the amount of nano calcium carbonate, mass ratio of crosslinking agent, type and amount of catalyst on the properties of sealant were studied. The results indicated that the optimal preparation conditions were when the mass ratio of a, ardihydroxy-polydimethylsiloxane to nano-calcium carbonate in the component A reached 1 : 1.1, and the crosslinking agent was mixed with methyl orthosilicate and methyl trimethoxy-silane oligomers at a mass ratio of 1 : 1 with a catalyst of 0.4 phr of sulfur-containing organotin. Under this condition, the tensile break time of the two-component silicone sealant was 25 min, with a debonding time of 75 min, a Shore A hardness of 48A, a tensile strength of 2.07 MPa, an elongation at break at 344%, and a shear strength of 2.06 MPa. After heat treatment at 90 °C for 7 days, the rubber has maintained comparatively stable mechanical properties, with slightly decreased vulcanization rate.
