- Abstract
In recent years, sports event management has become very popular, particularly in understanding the experiences of spectators. This study explores the spectator experience of the 29th SEA Games by identifying emerging themes that describe these experiences. Semistructured online interviews were conducted with seven spectators who were selected using purposive sampling. The results identified five emerging themes: emotional experience, event places, event organization, use of transportation and opening ceremony. Sports event managers will find the results useful to plan better events that can enhance the experiences of spectators.
