- Abstract
The article looks at the UNESCO movement for bioethics in medical education and the Indian scenario. It provides a historical background of bioethics and discusses research on the deterioration of relationships between doctors. It highlights the first World Bioethics Day held on October 19, 2016 with the theme Human Dignity and Human Rights and cites examples of psychiatric treatment issues in India including euthanasia and right to access to personal treatment records.
