- Title
The "Multihued Palette" of Academic Librarianship.
- Authors
Walter, Scott
- Abstract
The author presents his thoughts on the faculty status of academic librarians at U.S. universities and colleges. He notes that some arguments for giving faculty status to librarians have been made based on intellectual freedom and librarians' work in building collections and creating services to support teaching, learning, and research while the opposition states that academic librarians lack training in teaching or research methods. The author claims the debate is too simplified and outdated.
