- Abstract
Determines if the implementation of a medical protocol for the preoperative and postoperative care of patients receiving a laryngectomy for cancer of the larynx or hypopharynx will reduce the length and cost of hospital stay. Significant decrease in the mean length of hospitalization even when taking postoperative readmissions into account; Absence of a concomitant increase in surgical complications.
