- Abstract
The article reports on the analyses of the findings of the study that examined the adoption of an instructional innovation, model-based instruction (MBI) by student teachers. It presents the relevant data from the series of studies and examines the dynamics involved with teachers in different career stages making decisions about adopting MBI as an innovative approach for physical education teacher education (PETE). It claims that the series of studies related to the adoption of MBI demonstrates a possibility for a PETE faculty and its programs not only to change preservice teacher's notion but to develop a detectable pedagogical content learning.
