- Title
Micro vs. Macrovascular Reactivity in Insulin Resistance: The Debate Reignited.
- Authors
Nistala, Ravi; Whaley-Connell, Adam
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the study on micro and macrovascular reactivity in patients with insulin resistance. They mention that the result of the study shows the correlation of insulin resistance to flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) in hypertensive patients without cardiovascular disease (CVD) or risks and that FMD and skin reactive hyperemia (SRH) had no correlation. They suggest using FMD-guided therapeutic methods for endothelial function in CVD morbidity and mortality assessment.
