- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effects of propofol on acetylcholinesterase (AChE), N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors and y-aminobutyric acid receptors activities in the hippocampus of aging rats after cerebral ischemic injury. The study uses radioactive receptor analysis, one-way analysis of variance and spectrophotometry to assess the neuroprotective effect of propofol. Results show that the neuprotective function of propofol can be associated to the receptors activity changes.
