- Abstract
The present study, conducted with questionnaires completed by students in Bucharest Dental School at UMF „Carol Davila" University, evaluates the general knowledge of Hepatitis C infection (VHC) (for students in the first years 1 and 2) and specific knowledge after studying the matter Virology during college (middle and final years 3 to 6). One can draw a parallel between the first group and the level of medical education on the subject of a great mass of young people, and the second group of students and medical personnel who received specialized education. This reflects the daily habits of people and thus in preventing individual HCV contamination; and eventually a preventive health education of the population would reduce the incidence of Hepatitis C alltogether. As a conclusion results the fact that an early preventive and efficient medical education given to the young population could lead in time to a substantial drop in Hepatitis C infection incidence.
