- Title
Selective Fibrinogen Apheresis for Improvement in Microvascular Hemodynamics.
- Authors
Kaplan, Andre A.
- Abstract
The author comments on a study by A. Ramunni and colleagues on the effects of fibrinogen apheresis in patients with peripheral arterial disease. Their study aimed to examine the immediate effect of an abrupt reduction in fibrinogen on the hemodynamics of the lower extremities. The author believes that the results of the study but questions how long such effects last. He says that the study is impressive that follow-up data on how long the clinical improvement lasts after a single treatment is needed.
