INGESTA DE AZÚCARES AGREGADOS EN PACIENTES DISPÉPTICOS Y VOLUNTARIOS ASINTOMÁTICOS.

- Abstract
Objetivos: Comparar la ingesta de azúcares agregados entre pacientes con síntomas de dispepsia y voluntarios sin sintomatología digestiva alta. Materiales y Métodos: Pacientes adultos con síntomas dispépticos que asistieron a la Sección Esófago-Estómago del Hospital de Gastroenterología "Dr. Carlos Bonorino Udaondo" y voluntarios asintomáticos pertenecientes a la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Se realizó un recordatorio alimentario de 24h y cuestionario sociodemográfico; se midieron peso, talla y circunferencia de cintura (CC). Se utilizaron los test de Chi-cuadrado, Mann Whitney y regresión lineal múltiple para el análisis estadístico mediante el programa SPSS. Resultados: Se incluyeron 24 pacientes dispépticos (39,0±13,3a) y 22 voluntarios asintomáticos (37,9±11,3a), sin diferencias en términos de edad (p=0,77), sexo (p=0,86), condiciones de hacinamiento (p=0,23), ni estado nutricional (p=0,60). El grupo dispéptico no difirió significativamente respecto del asintomático en términos de ingesta media de energía (1737,2 Kcal/d vs. 1855,9 Kcal/d, p=0,50), ni azúcares totales (82,6 g/d vs. 61,9 g/d, p=0,17). El porcentaje de pacientes que excedió las recomendaciones de la OMS de consumo de azúcares agregados en relación con el de energía, fue mayor en los pacientes dispépticos respecto de los asintomáticos (83,3% vs. 27,3%, p=0,0003). Se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en el consumo de azúcares agregados entre ambos grupos (59,1 g/d vs. 34,6 g/d, p=0,001), sin embargo, dicha asociación dejó de ser significativa luego de ajustar por edad, sexo, estado nutricional, ingesta de energía, etnia y nivel educativo (p=0,15). Conclusiones: La ingesta de azúcares agregados no difirió significativamente entre pacientes con síntomas de dispepsia y voluntarios sin sintomatología digestiva alta luego del ajuste por otras variables; sin embargo, un porcentaje significativamente mayor de pacientes dispépticos excedió la recomendación de ingesta de azúcares agregados de la OMS.
