- Abstract
Objective:To analyze the relationship among cognitive function,perceived stress and emotion regulation strategies in patients with breast cancer.Methods:Totally 139 patients with breast cancer were selected in the Breast Surgery Department of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University.The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function,Perceived Stress Scale-10 and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire were used to evaluate the cognitive function,perceived stress and emotion regulation strategies.The PROCESS program was used to test the moderating effect of emotion regulation strategies.Results:There were significant differences in perceived stress among patients of different ages and education levels(Ps <0.05).Cognitive function scores had a significant negative association with perceived stress scores.Expressive suppression scores positively moderated the relationship between cognitive function and perceived stress.The association of cognitive function on perceived stress decreased with the increase of expressive suppression(β=0.16,P <0.05).Conclusion:It suggests that expressive suppression may play a positive moderating effect between cognitive function and perceived stress.
