- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 60-year-old man with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who experienced anaphylactic-like reaction between low-density lipoprotein (LDL) apheresis procedure and intake of crafted or home-made white wine. Topics discussed include the patient's medical history, diagnostic examinations performed on the patient, and side effects associated with LDL apheresis. The study shows how a careful medical history can help understand reactions during LDL apheresis.
