- Abstract
Although modern dental medicine is based more upon the prevention of simple dental cavity or its complications, there are many cases where patients come to the dental surgery with simple or complicated dental gangrene. Purpose: The study's purpose is to follow the reactions of post-treatment reactions and complications on teeth with simple gangrene treated in a single or multiple sessions, obturated with two types of endodontic sealers and guthaperca cones using the technique of cold lateral condensation. Material and method: In the study there were included 144 monoradicular teeth diagnosed with simple gangrene, that were divided into two equal lots to be treated in one or two sessions. These teeth were obturated with the technique of cold lateral condensation using two types of endodontic sealers, one eugenol-based and another epoxidic resin-based. Results: There was followed the appearance of immediate post-operative pain, one day after finishing the endodontic treatment. There was obtained a prevalence p=0,513 of pain appearance in the case of teeth treated in a single session respectively p=0,430 for teeth treated in two sessions. Conclusions: There have not been obtained different results regarding the appearance of post-treatment pain, statistically significant no matter the chosen treatment method or the type of endodontic sealer.
