- Abstract
The article presents a study that examines the clinical effects of rubidium ions on the course of manic depressive illness, and its neurochemical and neurophysiological action. The study was conducted in a metabolic ward, and each of the subject had a history of manic-depressive disorder. Results indicates that rubidium tends to increase the length of manic phases and possibly reduces the extremes of mood and did produce any severe side effects, but has a long biological half-life.
