- Abstract
Introduction: Testicular cancer represents 1.5 % of cancers in men and five percent of urological tumors in general. Paratesticular tumors (TPT) represent only four percent of testicular tumors. The TPT are masses of slow and painless growth and in most cases are benign (70 %), in which case the treatment is local excision of the lesion and monitoring based only on observation. In those identified as malignant (30%) treatment is more complex, consisting of radical orchiectomy associated with adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Ojective: To analyze the current literature, review the clinical course of a patient with paratesticular tumor and describe its management. Conclusion: Paratesticular tumours are uncommon intraescrotal lesions that although they are most often benign, present a considerable percentage of malignancy that merit adjuvant chemotherapy.
