- Abstract
A comparative study of three different photonic crystal structures has been studied theoretically in this paper. We compare the effect of changing the thickness of layers, number of layers, and refractive index on the strength of the photonic band gap width and the intensity of the transmission of the incident light. We take the first structure (MoS2/LiF), and the second structure (GaP/TiN), and the third one (LiF/TiN). By increasing the number of layers for the three structures, the photonic band gap edge is sharper and the width is wider, except for the third one, which has no effect. For changing the thickness of layers in the proposed structures, the number of photonic band gaps region increases, which is useful in further controlling the incident light. We established that the first structure, which consists of (MoS2/LiF) has a high transmittance peak and wide photonic band gap region for several optical filter devices.
