- Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO A obesidade e sobrepeso infantil no território brasileiro atingem aproximadamente 3,1 e 6,4 milhões de crianças, respectivamente. Na infância, a obesidade está fortemente associada ao diabetes mellitus tipo 2 e doenças cardiovasculares, além de causar danos à saúde mental e física ao longo dos anos. Dentre os fatores de risco que se relacionam à epidemia da obesidade infantil podem ser citados as transições socioeconômicas, estilo de vida e hábitos alimentares. No entanto, comportamentos alimentares e hábitos sedentários podem ser influenciados pelos dos pais ou responsáveis o que induz um estado nutricional de sobrepeso e obesidade na infância. Este trabalho tem por objetivo identificar a relação entre a comensalidade da família com o estado nutricional infantil. MÉTODOS Estudo transversal com dados da linha de base do projeto intitulado “Prevenção da Obesidade Infantil na Atenção Primária em Saúde: Um Ensaio Comunitário na Região Metropolitana de Vitória-ES'(PrevOI). Este estudo contou com a participação de famílias cadastradas na Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) compostas por crianças de 07 a 10 anos de idade apenas do município de Vitória. A coleta de dados foi realizada em (julho/2021 – dezembro/2021) nos respectivos municípios. A comensalidade da família foi avaliada por meio das seguintes questões: “O restante da família realizou o jantar junto com a criança ontem?”; “O restante da família comeu e bebeu o mesmo que a criança no jantar ontem?”. Cada questão possui duas opções de resposta (sim ou não). Para a avaliação do estado nutricional foi aferido a estatura e mensurado o peso corporal dos participantes para posterior cálculo do Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC). Em crianças, o IMC foi analisado utilizando o gráfico de crescimento da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS). O Estudo foi aprovado pelo comitê de Ética da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo sob o número:4.581.297. A análises foram realizadas no SPSS versão 21.0, adotando-se p <0,05. RESULTADOS A amostra foi constituída por 168 crianças (média de idade de 9,0 ± 0,98 anos), sendo majoritariamente do sexo feminino (58,9%). A partir da análise estatística, foi identificado que entre as crianças que não realizaram o jantar junto às suas famílias e não se alimentaram dos mesmos alimentos, 35,1% apresentaram obesidade (p=0,003 e p=0,036, respectivamente). CONCLUSÃO Foi identificado a relação entre comensalidade da família e o estado nutricional de obesidade infantil. Diante disso, a prevenção da obesidade infantil pode ocorrer através preservação de hábitos alimentares saudáveis em família.
