- Abstract
A case study is presented on how a history teacher used scaffolding techniques to improve a student's writing and language abilities. It focuses on a student in a high-school level advanced placement U.S. history (APUSH) course. Information is provided on how the teacher used scaffolding to promote historical thinking and the process of organizing main ideas. Other topics covered include metacognition, essay writing, and content knowledge.
