- Title
META-ANALYSIS: AN INAPPROPRIATE RATIONALE FOR SCIENCE EDUCATION RESEARCH.
- Authors
Haig, Brian D.
- Abstract
The article presents the comments of the author on the use of meta-analysis as a rationale for science education research. He cites that current evaluations of meta-analysis and its applications have shown a total disregard for the accompanying rationale provided by G. V. Glass. Glass asserts that many misunderstand meta-analyses of outcome research because they fail to take cognizance of the rationale. He claims that Glass's rationale expresses an untenable view of the research process, and that it is necessary for science education researchers to follow its strictures.
