- Abstract
Klinisches/methodisches Problem: Mit dem National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) konnte 2011 erstmals bewiesen werden, dass durch ein Screening mit einer Niedrigdosis-CT die Lungenkarzinommortalität um 20 % gesenkt werden kann. Trotz des positiven Ergebnisses des NLST gibt es derzeit in Europa - im Gegensatz zu den USA, kein systematisiertes Lungenkarzinom-Screening. Dies liegt zum Teil daran, dass mehrere deutlich kleinere Screening-Studien in Europa keine Verbesserung der Lungenkarzinommortalität zeigen konnten. Zum anderen unterscheiden sich die Gesundheitssysteme in Europa deutlich von jenen der USA, sodass eine direkte Übertragung der US-Erfahrungen auf Europa nicht möglich ist.Radiologische Standardverfahren: Aus diesem Grund müssen in den einzelnen Staaten Europas Leitlinien für ein Lungenkarzinom-Screening entwickelt werden, die gewährleisten, dass durch ein qualitätsgesichertes und möglichst kosteffektives Lungenkarzinom-Screening die Lungenkarzinommortalität gesenkt werden kann.Empfehlung für die Praxis: Die Erfahrungen und Daten Europäischer Screening-Studien können für diese Zwecke wertvolle Dienste leisten.
