- Abstract
This article focuses on the process of simple synthesis of substituted benzo[4,5]imidazol[1,2-α]pyridines, a pyridine series compound. A large number of drugs belongs to the class of pyridine series compounds and hence a development of new highly selective procedures for fused puridine derivatives preparation is suggested to be an urgent task. The most common procedure of the synthesis of said pyidine series compound consists in condensation of benzene 1-chioro-2-nitro derivatives with 2-aminopyridine. The reaction proceeds under relatively stringent conditions unsuitable for the synthesis of medicinals. Aiming at development of a new highly selective procedure, researchers have carried out a search for a convenient cyclizing agent: tin chloride in the presence of 3% hydrochloric acid. The composition and structure of compounds obtained were proved by elemental analysis, NMR and mass spectra.
