- Abstract
When introducing the hydrogen fugacity, Sievert's law does not translate to I f i SP 0.46 sp . Since theoretical assumptions predict I n i = 0.5 for a fully undistorted hydrogen reaction chain, the reviewed data are interpreted in a way that hydrogen-dislocation interactions are the rate-limiting step controlling hydrogen effects in steels. For HT <math display="block" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><semantics><mrow><mi>n</mi></mrow></semantics></math> ht = 0.5, all rate limiting steps (Figure 4) would be undistorted.
