- Abstract
The article discusses a study that investigated morphological and cytoarchitectural changes of brain structures in methylazoxymethanol acetate (MAM)-exposed rats, with the use of in vivo volumetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), manganese-enhanced MRI, and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), for the study of cerebral pathology of schizophrenia. MAM-exposed rats exhibited enlarged lateral and third ventricles and reduced hippocampal volumes, consistent with observations in schizophrenia.
