In the article, the authors discuss their study on the impacts of out-of-home care to mortality risks of patients. Other topics include the social, economic and health effects of exposure to public care in adolescence and childhood, the various causes of mortality like chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular diseases, and the relationship between medical care and total mortality in adulthood.
