- Abstract
The article discusses a study which investigated whether the open lung approach (OLA) can provide better outcome in patients with chronic thromboembolism with pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). In the OLA policy, recruitment maneuver is applied followed by positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) titration. When compared to the conventional group, patients who underwent OLA were found to have better outcomes including lower cardiac index, higher pulmonary resistance index, and higher pulmonary artery pressure following surgery.
