- Abstract
This article compares the diagnostic performance of a quantitative methodical assessment called IOTA logistic regression 2 (LR2) and expert subjective assessment (SA) in evaluating the malignancy of known adnexal masses. The study analyzed 9 primary articles published between 2016 and 2024, which included a total of 2,602 adnexal masses. The results showed that SA had significantly higher sensitivity and specificity compared to LR2. The authors suggest that further research should be conducted to determine if physicians subconsciously use diagnostic criteria like LR2 when subjectively assessing adnexal masses via ultrasound.
