- Abstract
This article, published in Chemistry of Natural Compounds, examines the chemical makeup of seeds from the Chionanthus retusus plant in China. The plant is known for its medicinal properties, including preventing heat stroke, aiding digestion, and protecting the eyes. While previous studies have focused on other parts of the plant, this study aims to identify the chemical components of the seeds. The research found that the seeds contain compounds with various beneficial effects, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, hepatoprotective, hypolipidemic, and neuroprotective properties. The document provides detailed information on the chemical composition of specific compounds found in the seeds, including Eriodictyol, Luteoloside, Luteolin-4'-O-β-D-glucoside, and Ursolic Acid. The study was funded by organizations in Henan Province.
