- Title
THE KEYSTONE OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT: THE QUAKERS, THE PENNSYLVANIA CONSTITUTION, AND THE FLAWED SCHOLARSHIP OF NATHAN KOZUSKANICH.
- Authors
Kopel, David B.; Cramer, Clayton E.
- Abstract
This article discusses the legal history of the right to bear arms provisions in the Pennsylvania Constitution of 1776 and of 1790. Claims made by author Nathan Kozuskanich about the constitutions' language and history in a paper he published in the "Rutgers Law Journal" are examined. In another article written by Kozuskanich, he revealed that Quakers who refused to join the military did not want to bear arms. He also argued that the right to keep and bear arms is only about carrying and owning military weapons.
