Political Obligation and the Self1 Political Obligation and the Self.
- Authors
Smith, Matthew Noah
- Abstract
An essay is presented on existing obligation to obey the law. It attempts to dispute that there is something distinctive about the obligation to follow the law that makes this sort of obligation especially hard to defend and therefore especially vulnerable to being treated skeptically. The author discussed traditional characteristics of the obligation to abide the law and Robert Paul Wolff's arguments against the possibility of an obligation to obey the law.
