The Secret Lives of Color.
- Authors
Brill, Michael H.
- Abstract
The website www.kassiastclair.com introduces the subject book with impressive credentials: "Kassia St. Clair is a writer based in London. St. Clair remarks "In fact, humans evolved the capacity to see in color several millennia earlier", an estimate that I believe is too small by several orders of magnitude. The general populace resented her ostentation, so her husband King Louis XVI tried to dissuade Marie Antoinette by calling the color "puce", the color of fleas.
