- Abstract
The remarkable advance of investors', companies', governments', and individuals' concerns about climate and social issues has consolidated the end of the so-called "Friedman doctrine", according to which the primary purpose of companies is to generate profits for shareholders. It is within this context that ESG factors, which translated means (environmental, social, and governance), are gaining more and more space. Thus, from this perspective, from a literature review research, seeking to understand what ESG is and the challenges that are part of this new corporate vision of business, this research is necessary to raise the main reflections and its importance for today's and future companies, concluding with a vision on the social responsibility and sustainability of a company with an ethical management and committed to environmental, social and governance aspects, thus generating more value and engagement for the company.
