- Abstract
The article is a review of the book "Selected Correspondence (1799-1860)" by Arthur Schopenhauer. The author highlights the work of Luis Fernando Moreno Claros in the editing, translation, and annotation of this correspondence, which offers an excellent introduction to the life and thought of the philosopher. The book is divided into eleven chapters that cover from Schopenhauer's early letters to the last years of his life. Through the letters, the author's misanthropic, egocentric, and misogynistic character is revealed, as well as his interest in Eastern philosophy and his admiration for Goethe and Kant. The article emphasizes the importance of this correspondence as a complement to Schopenhauer's biography and as a starting point for those who wish to delve into his work.
