- Abstract
The article presents information on legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of intellectual property. The article discusses a report on criminal antitrust enforcement efforts by the Department of Justice during the last two years of U.S. President Ronald Reagan's presidency, and the first two years of U.S. President George H.W. Bush's presidency, 1986 through 1990, titled General Accounting Office Study of Antitrust Division Criminal Complaints. Prepared by the General Accounting Office at the request of the House of Representatives, the study shows that criminal antitrust investigations declined by 29%. The article discusses the nature of investigations and warns planners that the focus and number of investigations may change with a change in political leadership.
