- Abstract
This article aims to discuss popular architecture, which after the growth of urbanization and population began to be studied by Architects, Urbanists and public authorities, to develop housing strategies that would solve the significant demand for popular buildings. To this end, social housing projects were created with the aim of helping urban dwellers to find viable and economically favorable solutions, maintaining control over the quantity of housing that would be built without taking into account the quality of what was being delivered to the public. The result was disastrous. They began to deliver structurally poor housing, which disregarded the primary issue for the population: comfort and security for the families who would occupy the property. There was a favorable thought to the economy, but comfort and social stability were not observed.
