- Title
Die Basileia von Alexandria. Topographisch-urbanistische Untersuchungen zum ptolemäischen Königsviertel.
- Authors
Baumer, Lorenz E.
- Abstract
The Basileia of Alexandria is the subject of an archaeological investigation that focuses on the royal districts and palace complexes of the city. The book provides a comprehensive depiction of the Basileia, which was founded in 331 BC by Alexander the Great. Various aspects such as cultural fusions and the integration of Egyptian cultural elements are discussed. However, the archaeological findings are limited, so the investigation primarily relies on comparisons with other cities in the Mediterranean region.
