- Abstract
This article explores on how the concepts stalking joy and dangerous quest informed the life of Flannery O'Connor and her fiction. It states that the concept was taken directly from one of her favorite prayers, Prayer to St. Rafael. It also notes some theological and philosophical groundings for O'Connor's theme of stalking joy and examines how she developed the theme, in most of her stories and novels.
